POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Before & After School Site Director, the Assistant Site Director assists with the overall direction and management of the childcare site within the goals and objectives of the San Luis Obispo County YMCA. This includes responsibility for program implementation, management of site staff, the supervision, safety and well being for up to 20 children, old enrolled in the YMCA's Grant School Programs. The Assistant Site Director is responsible for participating with the Site Director to achieve positive results for the San Luis Obispo County YMCA childcare programs.
Assist and follow the Site Director in program planning and implementation. Are flexible and creative in program planning and implementation. Assists with a variety of stimulating, challenging activities appropriate for youth. Are flexible and willing to work at another site or with another group when necessary. Continually take an active role in providing safe conditions at the site. Site Directors in providing quality Y child care programs. Under supervision manage accounts receivable, maintain EOC and Financial Assistance reports, registration. Assists Site Director in preparing weekly staff schedules and assist the Site Director in the development and evaluation of each staff member. Creates a list of food and supplies needed for purchase. Maintenance of the Food Program records and preparation of snack menus.
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, and/or EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 18 years of age Minimum 48 college units, AA Degree or NCLB certified and 1 year related experience Bi-lingual desired Experience/ability to lead and communicate with groups of youth in the appropriate age group Direct experience working with youth in an active recreational and developmental setting and a sincere desire to have a meaningful effect on the lives of youth Experience with team building and youth development strategies Experienced in Microsoft Office software Good organizational skills, initiative and a proactive attitude
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: • Live scan clearance. • Within the first 30 days of employment CPR/ First Aid/AED certificate, child abuse prevention training • Blood borne pathogens training as required (Certifications need to remain current during employment.)
