An Example of Corporate Giving!

The Tenet Healthcare Foundation and Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center recently donated $2,500 to the San Luis Obispo County YMCA to complete its $5,000 commitment for funding The Learning Center for Active Older Adults located in the YMCA’s Specialty Fitness Center. The Learning Center features literature, online access and other materials for seniors to learn more about heart disease and other health concerns.

Whether you are able to offer monetary support or your valuable time as a committee member, your gift WILL help at least one life "breathe easier" and help contribute to building strong kids, strong families, and strong communities!

The San Luis Obispo County YMCA has been building strong kids, strong families and strong communities for the past 48 years...countywide.

Today the Y offers a wide variety of recreational experiences for children and adults of all ages: before and after school care, preschool programs, summer resident camping, specialty camps, parent-child activities, fitness classes and senior programs.

Your help is needed. The Y relies on contributions to keep its programs strong, effective and affordable as well as create new programs in response to community identified needs. The 2006 Strong Kids Campaign assures that financial assistance is available to all participants so no one is denied participation in any Y program due to lack of ability to pay.

When a Y volunteer calls upon you, we hope you will consider making a pledge to support the Y's important work. Help the Y continue to build strong kids, strong families and strong communities. If you would like to be a part of our Annual Support Campaign team contact mfoster@sloymca.org.

Our 2006 Annual Support Campaign will be Chaired by Dave & Maggie Cox. This is their 1st year overseeing the campaign and we are excited to have them come aboard! SLO YMCA would also like to introduce Reese Davies, Chair for the Major Gifts Section and Damien & Tina Porter, Chairs of the Community Section. We thank them for their great enthusiasm!

Throughout the month of March, our campaign volunteers recruit volunteers, solicit contributions and build business and individual partnerships and relationships. The campaign is kicked off at the beginning of March with our Victory Celebration at the beginning of April. The campaign is orchestrated by about 50 volunteers that gather together for one month to raise scholarship money for YMCA programs and raise seed money for future program endeavors.
