Under the supervision of the OED and in cooperation with other YMCA staff, and consistent with the San Luis Obispo County YMCA’s mission, the Director of Sports is responsible for the administration, supervision, program development and implementation of a successful YMCA Youth and Adult Sports Program county-wide, including but not limited to Roller Hockey, Futsal, Basketball, T-Ball/Coach Pitch, Bitty Sports, South County Skate Park, and other sports Camps/clinics. This includes recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers (coaches and interns); recruiting participants, organizing teams, registration, equipment; scheduling meetings and games, facilities, and personnel. This position is also responsible to develop and maintain a successful program budget; including program growth and sponsorships.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, and/or EXPERIENCE:
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Certifications required within 30 days of hire: CPR/AED, and First Aid and Child Abuse Prevention training.
Blood borne pathogens and concussion training as required.
Valid driver’s license/car registration.
Clear livescan (fingerprints) report.
Certifications need to remain current during employment.
